IE8 HTML dropdown opens pop-up blocker

In a bizarre set of events, after upgrading to IE8, every HTML dropdown suddenly tried to open the popup blocker. After searching on the web, it appears that this is down to a conflict with the Tredosoft Multiple IE software (either that or the stand alone IE7 version).

The Fix

I uninstalled both the standalone IE7 and the Multiple IE programs (hence removing any conflicting .dlls) and then re-ran the installer for IE8. Then restart and away you go.
