Click here if you don’t know what a link is

When the web was young and developers didn’t know better, everyone used the Click Here type link. You’d have pages where all of the links would be:

Click here to download our brand new software.

All of a sudden, the ‘Powers of Usability’, stated that links should link to what they are talking about, without becoming unusable. (more…)

Set file and directory permissions recursively for a website

Sometimes you just want a quick way to set your web files and your directories to the ‘standard’ permissions required. Whilst each website requires different levels of access for different users, this is the bare minimum you should be doing.
